About Us

Canaan is a special home for people who are not looking for, or require an institution to live in.  We do not have a nurse or doctor on staff, and we don’t  provide 24 hour awake supervision. Evening supervision is provided by a live in staff member who is available at all times with additional support staff on call.

Treatment in all situations are provided by Mental Health professionals at the Royal Ottawa Hospital, or Family Physicians.

Our Mandate is to provide a safe, caring and loving environment where everyone feels they are an important part of an extended  family.  It is our desire to provide a Residential blending of spiritual, recreational and working activities to compliment the clinical approach of  mental health professionals. Members are encouraged to fine tune family values,  Respect, sharing, working together and supporting each other at all times
